Durham Diocese are one of the first Church of England organisations to have an official Channel on the recently launched Apple News service.

Readers of news from the Diocese of Durham can now subscribe to the newly launched channel on the Apple iOS platform meaning that they can get access to news, blogs and commentary from the Church of England in the Diocese of Durham directly to their iPhone or iPAD.

Keith Blundy, Communication Adviser for the Diocese said: “I am delighted that Apple have given us a channel for our news output. If we are going to have a presence in every community, which is what the Church of England is all about then we need to use every opportunity to spread our news as widely as possible. Doing this online via emerging digital channels such the Apple News service is really important.

“We have operated a collated digital media newspaper that is published daily for a couple of years now – but making our news available via Apple’s News service means that we can get wider coverage still.”

“In our desire as a Diocese to ‘Bless Our Communities In Jesus’ name for the Transformation of us all’ – broadening our reach online is an important part of spreading the good news of Jesus Christ.”

People interested in following or subscribing to the Dioceses’ new Apple News channel can do so by launching Apple News on their iOS device and search for Durham Diocese News or following this link: https://apple.news/T4niPGdRzTMefxgglEhWGOw
